Founded in 1977 at the Sunflower Grange in Sedalia, CO the Sunflower Squares was formed by a group of friends that wanted to square dance.  Al Runyan was their first caller.  In the fall of 1984, Bob & Allynn Riggs were asked to join the club as its club caller.  The club was dancing at the Cantral School. The school districts carpeting of the floor caused the club to move to the stage in Castle Rock Elementary School. We danced there for several years until the district raised the hall rent which caused us to move to the Dance company that was located on North Park Street west of I25. After several years the dance company moved to its current location at 740 Wilcox on the east side of I25.  We opted to move to the Castle Rock Senior Center which was located on 3rd street at that time.  We enjoyed our time at that location but when the Senior Center moved to the Recreation center location we moved to the current location of the Dance Company, 740 Wilcox Street.
